National Institutes of Health is conducting Small Research Grant Program for next generation researchers belonging to low-middle income countries for diseases related to aging and Alzheimer and related dementia research.
The NOFO is inviting applications from institutions belonging to LMICS to provide support to junior faculty investigators conducting their research in aging and AD/ADRD diseases. The object of the funding is to not only help junior researchers to conduct research related to aging and Alzheimer and Alzheimer related dementia but also help in career development these researchers who belong from institutions of low-income middle countries (LMICs).
As many LMICs do not have proper facility for research and development, so NIA a federal agency supports Alzheimer’s disease research and provides the junior investigators with a proper research environment along with the funding opportunity resulting in lucrative career development. These are small research projects which are conducted for a period of over two years, such as pilot or feasibility study, secondary analysis of existing data, small, self-contained research projects, development of research methodology, development of new research technology, etc.
The major requirements for filling the application is that the applicant must currently hold a position of an academic junior faculty position or research scientist appointment supported by the their LMIC academic or research institution.
