The Elton John AIDS Foundation is putting people suffering from and vulnerable to HIV and AIDS at the center of attention including the LGBTQ community. Along with people suffering from the disease, the Foundation also focuses on places, young people and drug addicts most vulnerable to HIV and AIDS.

As the UK strives to become the 1st country to eliminate any new infection of HIV by 2030, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) plays an important role in mitigating HIV transmission. But inequitable access to PrEP is a hindrance for the UK in order to achieve its goal, whereas the Elton John AIDS Foundation along with Fast Track Cities, Gilead and ViiV Health are funding innovative approaches with a budget of £500,000 that helps in improving easy access, equity and cost effectiveness of the present PrEP pathways also providing a sustainable blueprint for future endeavors.

The Foundation is going to support various digital, end to end and customer reach supplies of PrEP in England which includes initiation to PrEP delivery which means customers need to fill an online application, completing an assessment, accessing all related STI and eGFR testing while receiving their PrEP prescription at their preferred location.

Apart from the above, the Foundation is seeking to support the existing care giving pathways providing PrEP services which include methods to address PrEP awareness and initiation wherever necessary along with continuing care and support delivered in adapted sexual health service.
