The ASH HONORS (Hematology Opportunities for the Next Generation of Research Scientists) Award helps contributing to the development of the next generation of hematologists.
The Award provides research funding to the third, second and first year medical students along with second year medical residents. The research applicants can choose the duration to conduct their research from 3 months to 12 months’ period.
The ASH HONORS Award provide a stipend of $5000 supporting hematology-related research project and in addition to that the program participants also receive a $1000 as travel allowance each year for a period of two years for attending ASH Annual Meetings, whereas they are also encouraged to continue their research careers beyond medical school and residency in hematology.
A “visiting researcher fee” is charged to participants who chose to conduct their research at an outside institution other than their home institution. At annual meeting of ASH, the Committee Members provide insights on specific areas of research and also provide recommendations regarding annual meeting sessions, events, abstracts, etc.
