The CGO is Contributing to better social and health service coordination. The CGO will promote the county’s Aging Roadmap.
As its first CGO for its medical care services department, the Health and Human Services Agency of San Diego County has appointed Dr. Lindsey Yourman. According to county authorities, the inclusion of a CGO is a component of the county’s initiatives.
It is serving its growing older adult population through the Aging Roadmap. By 2030, San Diego County will have more than 900,000 older citizens living there.
The road map is the city of San Diego’s regional strategy and framework. So that it can promote senior citizen care, assistance, affordable housing, accessible transit, and engagement opportunities.
The American College of Emergency Physicians granted geriatric emergency unit accreditation to every qualifying nonmilitary hospital. So that it can make it the first county in the United States to achieve this feat.
The road map calls for measures, including compiling a list of technologies connected to aging, disability, and dementia. The road plan also directs GIS mapping of locations of older individuals.
Yourman, a former geriatrician at UC San Diego Health, started the Age-Friendly Health System Initiative. He is also the medical director of the initiative for improving the care of older patients. According to UCSD’s website, as a result, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement acknowledged UCSD. It was the first healthcare network in San Diego to enlist in the international programme.
She took over as the county’s CGO last month. She will also collaborate closely with the organization that provides aging and independent services. Additionally, she will assist every HHSA division that works with senior citizens.
According to her statement in the publication, “Dr. Yourman’s concentration on this group will empower organizations. So he can better assist individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. He assists people with innovative methods to interact, reach, and support the community.
