The new AMA Physician Practice Benchmark Survey has found a major uptick in the use of virtual care since earlier than the pandemic. 70.3% of physicians polled say that they work in practices that use video conferencing for patient visits in 2020.

The figure was only 14.3% in 2018. Hence it can appeal surprisingly to others. But a relatively wide variance is in use. The practice that uses virtual care relies upon bringing in variety. They are also using it for the sake of new technologies.

According to the new report of an AMA’s research, video conferencing is one of the most preferred means for patient consultation for dermatology practices and cardiologists.

More than 80% of family and general physicians with interns conduct routine video vitreous. They are also using telehealth in various ways. Across all the practices, 58% said that they use telehealth to diagnose patients. 59.2% use telehealth to manage patients with chronic diseases. 50.45 uses telehealth to offer care to patients with acute diseases. 34.3% use telehealth for preventive care visits.

The behavioral health specialists take tele-talk in a big way. The AMA report shows that psychiatrists have the highest rates of using telehealth to diagnose their patients.

Not all remote consults are video conferences. 36.89% of visitors have conducted video conferencing. 29% of visits are by phone. Across all such specialties, 10.6% of weekly visits took place with video while 8. % took place over the phone.

Medical practices are now finding much favor with telehealth. Patients are also like it. A Cleveland Clinic Study from this summer has found that more than half of the survey respondents like telehealth visits.

Even virtual care is going on with its rapid real-time evolution. It has enabled some of the significant changes in the way of care delivery. All kinds of organizations have benefited from it.
