A Switzerland-based health tech company has developed the first-ever AI-powered hearing aid to improve user experience.

Phonak, a subsidiary of Sonova, a global manufacturer and distributor of hearing aids, has introduced the world’s first advanced hearing aid, the Audéo Sphere Infinio, featuring a dedicated AI chip to deliver clear speech even in noisy environments.

According to Robert Woolley, Group Vice President of Hearing Instruments at Sonova, the new device is game-changing for anyone struggling to hear in a noisy environment.

Developed to tackle the challenges of the existing aids, the device leverages ERA and DEEPSONIC AI chips to achieve a new level of speech clarity.

Audéo Sphere Infinio addresses the numerous challenges associated with the existing hearing aids, which are prone to hearing loss in noisy backgrounds due to their inability to separate the speech from the background noise.

The revolutionary device uses advanced AI-backed signal processing capabilities to achieve a 10dB enhancement in signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), outperforming other hearing aids on the market.

Key Features of the Advanced AI-powered Hearing Aid

The new hearing aid boasts high speech quality, reducing the user’s hearing effort. It also features improved speech understanding, making it ideal for noisy environments, and integrates seamlessly with Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Additionally, Audéo Sphere Infinio features DEEPSONIC chip, which offers real-time noise suppression and speech separation.

In addition to Audéo Sphere Infinio, Phonak introduced additional models based on its Infinio platform, each tailored to specific user needs.
