Nicholas Befera, M.D., co-founder and CEO of Scanslated, Inc, is a board-certified radiologist and Assistant Professor of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Duke University Medical Center. At Scanslated, Dr. Befera leads corporate vision and strategy as his company points the direction forward in patient engagement by reimagining the radiology report to empower patients with a better understanding of their medical results. Dr. Befera earned his M.D. from the University of Minnesota and completed his radiology residency and fellowship at Duke University. He serves on a national patient-engagement committee with the American College of Radiology, and has co-authored numerous medical publications, including “Patient-Friendly Radiology Reporting – Implementation and Outcomes”, recently published in the Journal of American College of Radiology (Feb 2022).
