About Yusuf Tamer
Yusuf Talha Tamer is a principal data and applied Scientist at PCCI, a nonprofit data science and technology company in Dallas, Texas. He studied molecular biology and genetics as an undergraduate. He completed his PhD work in molecular biophysics and computational biology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center with a focus on translational medicine. As a data scientist in a healthcare institution, he builds predictive clinical decision support systems such as Sepsis, and pediatric asthma risk models. His current role also focuses on extracting population-level insights to inform strategic decisions for clients and stakeholders.
About Nainesh Shah
Nainesh Shah, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in hospital medicine. Dr. Shah earned his medical degree at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, and he completed a residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014. Dr. Shah is a board certified clinical informaticist and serves as a Deputy Medical Information Officer at Parkland Health. He is also the medical director of innovation, technology, and design in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Parkland. He is a Senior Fellow of Hospital Medicine and a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Shah’s clinical and research interests include clinical informatics, high-value care and quality improvement. He has delivered numerous national and regional lectures.
