In celebration of National Pet Month, Walmart+ has announced an exciting new benefit for its members. Starting later this year, Walmart+ members who are pet owners will have 24/7 virtual access to veterinary professionals through a partnership with Pawp, a leading digital health clinic and telehealth platform for pet care. This new service aims to provide unparalleled convenience and peace of mind at no additional cost to Walmart+ members, addressing rising veterinary costs and increasing difficulties in accessing traditional veterinary services.
The introduction of Pawp as a permanent feature comes after a successful pilot program last year. The pilot, which was a limited-time offer, saw a high redemption rate and became Walmart+’s most successful limited-time offer of 2023. With over 75% of Walmart+ members being pet owners, the service quickly gained popularity and demonstrated its value to the membership.
“Our focus has always been on evolving Walmart+ in a way that puts our members first,” said Venessa Yates, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Walmart+. “Seeing how well-received Pawp was as a limited-time offer, we knew it was a valuable addition that would enhance the Walmart+ experience. This new benefit illustrates our continued evolution, as we strive to provide seamless, time-saving, and affordable solutions tailored to our members’ needs.”
“At Pawp, our mission is to make high-quality, convenient pet care accessible to a much larger part of the population. For over a year now, Walmart+ has been an incredible partner in helping us realize this vision,” said Marc Atiyeh, CEO of Pawp. “We’re excited to deepen this relationship by incorporating Pawp as an ongoing, first-of-its-kind pet health benefit for Walmart+ and look forward to supporting Walmart+ members with their pets’ care for years to come.”
Walmart+ continues to provide a comprehensive membership program that offers a variety of benefits, including unlimited free deliveries, fuel and travel discounts, early access to promotions, and much more, for just $98 per year or $12.95 per month. This news is extension of Walmart’s vision to offer telehealth services for everyone in the US because of its reach and leveraging the same to expand its offerings in health sector as well.
