A US-based non-profit health plan offering services to over 1.3 million people, Priority Heath, has partnered with Curai Health, a nationwide virtual care provider, to offer free virtual visits to over 400,000 adult Michigan residents with no health coverage.
The free virtual visits available for the residents through December 31, 2024, aim to enhance access to virtual care for the underserved population, addressing the long-standing health disparities in the state.
The initiative also addresses the dire consequences of delayed health care and poor health stemming from the lack of active health coverage, promoting health equity, ongoing access to care, and reducing care costs for the uninsured population.
Curai Health leverages the power of AI to offer critical support to a team of specially trained and dedicated clinicians licensed to provide specialized care to patients.
The company’s platform empowers healthcare providers with straightforward information gathering, proper clinical documentation, and comprehensive medical knowledge, enhancing the quality of care delivery.
To ensure the safety and accuracy of virtual care delivery, the company includes human professionals in the loop to ensure expertise and clinical oversight of diagnosis and preside over the final treatment decision.
How to Access the Free Virtual Care
Those looking to join the initiative can connect with a virtual healthcare provider via a computer or smartphone by visiting priorityhealth.com/freevirtual and getting a special access code to use on CuraiHealth.com or the Curai Health app to begin their virtual health visit.
However, users should note that the free virtual health visits do not cover recommended medical care beyond the free virtual program and the cost of medications prescribed during the virtual care session. Also, the initiative does not cover other expenses related to specialist visits, lab tests, incidentals, or surgeries.
