The shortage of healthcare professionals is a global challenge that not only lowers the quality of care but also results in many errors, as well as high morbidity and mortality of patients admitted into healthcare facilities.
However, rapidly advancing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies have shown promising results in plugging the long-standing problem of healthcare staff shortage, improving workflow efficiency, and patient outcomes.
Dozee, an India-based health tech company, is one such company revolutionizing healthcare delivery using state-of-the-art technology to bridge the existing structural gaps in the country’s healthcare system.
Co-founded in 2015 by Mudit Dandwate and Gaurav Parchani in Bengaluru, Dozee has developed a bed-based remote patient monitoring system that uses two sensor sheets and a mattress to provide early warning about patients’ conditions.
The two sensors can detect respiratory, cardiac, and sleep signals, among other critical health signals. They capture patients’ data every second with a remarkable accuracy of 98%, allowing healthcare professionals to track patients’ health conditions in real-time.
The company’s smart beds can be integrated into existing hospital administration systems, easing the workload for healthcare staff and improving real-time patient monitoring and care outcomes.
Currently, Dozee’s patient monitoring technology products have been deployed in over 16,000 beds in more than 250 health facilities in India and an additional 55 hospitals in the United States.
Dozee’s founder, Dandwate, told a local news outlet the company is seeking to raise additional capital in the next six months to fuel its expansion into the US market.
