Korea University Anam Hospital is set to develop AI models and telemedicine with cloud-based HIS

This public hospital is going through a systematic quality assessment from HIMSS Digital Health Indicator.

Korea University Anam Hospital’s information system will help the foundation to lay higher quality medical data collection. It is hoping to enable its accurate diagnosis treatment offering through telemedicine.

Following the DHI assessment, this hospital wants to compare its system to other HIS across the globe. It will help them to determine if there is any further room for improvement or not.

Apart from KU Anam, the cloud HIS has expanded its service to Ansan Hospital and KU Guro. It has enabled their tertiary medical facility to share its clinical data through the cloud. This is also facilitating their collaboration to develop new AI models and medicines.

Using HIS, KU Anam sees the potential reduction in its medical expenses. The duplicate examinations are getting eliminated through the easy exchange of medical data within the hospitals.

This cloud hospital information system will lay this foundation for higher quality medical; data collection. It will enable more accurate diagnosis and treatment that they will provide to patients. Following the assessment of DHI, the hospital wants to compare its system to other HIM across the world. It will help them to determine if there is any further space to expand or not.

During the interview, KU Anam has also mentioned a few other initiatives which they are undertaking. One of these is the medical bid data on its cloud-HIS, along with the building of a clinical data warehouse that can run analysis. Also, it can perform another AI modeling based on big data. With these initiatives, the hospital is aiming to promote the discovery of AI medical devices, AI-based drug substances, and AI medical devices.

KU Anam is going through the HIMSS DHI assessments. It came to light in April last year. The DHI helps the health system to assess the current level of digital maturity and how they can improve it over time. It is looking for four key measurements or other outcomes, interoperability, workforce, governance, and predictive analysis.
