DUOS, a digital health innovator focusing on developing personal assistant platform solutions to help seniors age independently, has launched its next-generation AI chat platform, Chat 2.0, to improve access to healthcare by older adults.
The new version of the chat platform has been built on the remarkable success of Duos’ previous version, Chat 1.0, providing a more intuitive, personalized, and actionable care experience for older people.
Co-founded in 2020 by Karl Ulfers, Anne Aponte, and Jacques Anderson JD, Duos platform helps the elderly perform diverse tasks such as support, errands, transportation, shopping, nutrition, and community engagements.
Empowering the Elderly to Live Independently
According to a report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) in January 2024, most people who use assistive technology require more than one type of such product, making integrated services crucial in helping them live independently.
These assistive technologies are particularly vital for more than 2.5 billion people globally who need one or multiple assistive products. With the aging population and increasing cases of non-communicable illnesses, the number of people requiring assistive technology is expected to reach 3.5 billion by 2050.
This forecast makes AI-powered platforms such as DUO’s Chat 2.0 more relevant in helping the aging population manage their healthcare plans independently through the platform.
It incorporates Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), enabling it to deliver personalized answers and support appropriate multilingual and multicultural communications, breaking language barriers and catering to diverse needs.
Additionally, the platform allows users to request services, book appointments, and complete a wide range of tasks through an intuitive interface.
Duos plans to expand access to its platform’s services in seven more states across the US, empowering more seniors to live more independent lives.
