A UK-based medical technology company that simplifies surgical workflow using a voice-enabled application, Voice-Care International Ltd, has won the “Best Healthcare Technology Solution of the Year” in the Health Tech Digital Awards 2024.

According to the company’s announcement, its Surgical Workflow Application won the prestigious award due to its potential to transform surgical procedures and enhance patient safety and care.

Developed in compliance with the WHO, LocSSIPs, and NatSSIPs Checklists, as well as the recommendations from surgical clinicians, Heads of Governance, and ICUs, the application helps physicians effortlessly follow Surgical Safety Checklists accurately.

The application uses voice commands to guide physicians through specific procedures via a checklist of questions, capturing crucial procedural and patient-specific information and data. This ensures compliance and standardization.

It also enables accurate and accessible record-keeping, eliminating issues related to human factors and improving patient outcomes.

How Voice-Care Surgical Workflow Application Works

Voice-Care leverages voice-directed technology to allow healthcare professionals to work hands-free. The application features two-way voice command, along with a custom-built scheduling system to help simplify the recording of patient-specific observations from the bedside in real-time.

This allows for more personalized engagement with patients without having to refer to documents and paper notes.

The surgical workflow application supports integration with other hospital systems and can be configured to meet compliance requirements when necessary. Additionally, it can upload photos taken, live stream video guides, and record speech at the end of the process.

Voice-Care also comes with a mobile phone application that allows the patient’s next of kin access to patient progress updates, reducing the pressure from concerned relatives.
