India-based health technology startup Aciana has unveiled a mobile platform that leverages artificial intelligence in facial scans to provide instant health snapshots in only 30 seconds.
Launched last week, the comprehensive healthcare platform powered by advanced genetic insight and AI-driven analytics aims to revolutionize how doctors check for health vitals. It combines multiple essential features usually found on separate medical devices in a single platform, saving doctors valuable time to tend to other patients.
Available in the form of a mobile app compatible with most smartphones, Ciana is powered by a proprietary AI face scan that scans for more than 25 vital health metrics, including cardiovascular risk, metabolic disorder, diabetes risk, and mental stress, among others.
Ciana licensed the face scan technology called Genewa from a Canadian company, which allows it to offer effortless health scans within a few seconds. It links this face scan with genetics data and diagnostics to produce actionable insights on an individual’s health, which could be crucial for personalized care.
An All-in-one Platform for Patients and Doctors
Based in Hyderabad, Aciana also aims to connect patients to health care providers, diagnostics labs, and pharmacies, improving patient care and treatment outcomes.
Aciana says the revolutionary platform, which is currently the first-of-its-kind in the country, speeds up decision-making in healthcare by up to 30% by improving the precision using real-time data exchange, according to a news report by TimesOfIndia.
Satya Vantipalli, CTO at Aciana, is optimistic the company’s new technology could be a game-changer by providing a solution to India’s fragmented data and limited access to personalized care.
He added that Ciana’s new technology will bridge the existing gap by combining genetics and AI together into a single seamless platform, allowing patients to “manage their health better in real-time.”
