California-based health technology startup Claimable, has launched the world’s first AI-driven Appeals platform to help patients combat unjust healthcare claims denials, the company announced in a press release.
Founded in 2009 by Miles Tinsley, the company’s platform uses AI to analyze patients’ appeals data, policy details, clinical research as well as patients’ unique medical profile to generate customized appeals within minutes.
According to Warris Bokhari, MD, CEO and Co-Founder of Claimable, the platform leverages AI’s benefits to amplify patients’ voices in a system that often excludes them by ensuring patients get the treatment they are owed.
Revolutionizing Healthcare Denial Appeals
Claimable’s pilot program posted an 80% success rate on appeals, 1.6 times above the industry average. Most cases were resolved within 10 days, three times faster than the average turnaround time. Additionally, the platform submits customized appeals within minutes.
With $850 million out of the $5 billion worth in annual healthcare claims in the United States being denied, resulting in delays for 60% of the affected, with 47% reporting worsening health as a result, the data from the Claimable pilot study shows its potential to improve the lives of millions.
The platform empowers patients with the tools vital for challenging any unjust healthcare claim denial and getting access to crucial medical treatments they need. This can help minimize care delays, and medical debts, which usually account for 66% of personal bankruptcies for over 100 million Americans.
Claimable’s platform currently offers appeals for 60 life-changing treatments, including commonly denied treatments for conditions such as migraines and autoimmune illnesses.
The company is currently working to expand claim support to 100 treatments, increasing its impact to millions across America.
