Wilson Health Foundation has announced its new funding from the Shelby County United Way POWER Group and the Student United Way, enabling it to provide HALO sleep sacks to families at the Family Birth Center. This grant will support safe sleep for newborns, offering peace of mind to parents during their hospital stay.
HALO sleep sacks provide a safe and secure sleep environment for newborns, reducing the risk of SIDS. These wearable blankets promote healthy sleep positioning and eliminate loose bedding hazards, offering peace of mind to families at Wilson Health. Jenny Bruns, Executive Director of Wilson Health Foundation, expressed her gratitude, saying, this funding from the Shelby County United Way POWER Group and Student United Way enables us to provide essential resources, prioritizing both the safety of our newborns and peace of mind for new parents.
With over 700 births each year at the Family Birth Center, Wilson Health places a strong emphasis on educating families about safe sleep practices, which parents can continue at home.
The HALO sleep sack initiative is one of many ways Wilson Health Foundation remains committed to supporting family well-being from birth. The organization’s ongoing partnership with United Way serves as a testament to this mission, ensuring that every child born at Wilson Health has a healthy and secure beginning.
