International Space Data company Pixxel has raised $24 million in the extension round of Series B funding. It makes the total funding for this round $60 million. This achievement ensured that Pixxel became the most-funded hyperspectral imaging startup in the world.
Pixxel is delighted to announce that new investors in this round include M&G plc Catalyst and Glade Brook Capital Partners LLC. It further helps Pixxel to continue its journey to build a health monitor for the planet with its support, accompanied by Pixxel’s existing investors.
Strengthening the Capabilities of Earth Observation
This new funding brings Pixxel closer to achieving its goal of launching the second-generation hyperspectral satellite constellation with even higher resolution than the current generation.
The funding will assist the company in growing its software and hardware so that it can continue to advance climate justice. The specific industries the satellite constellation would cater to include agriculture, energy, and mining, as well as environmental monitoring.
Fireflies: A Game-Changing Launch
Pixxel is also gearing up for its Fireflies hyperspectral commercial satellites, which are expected to be launched soon. This release marks a major step in changing the way the world will watch and study the Earth to obtain accurate data for anticipating and tracking global events.
