Pieces Technologies Inc., an AI research and development company supporting in-patient care teams, has secured $25 million in growth funding to transform hospital care using clinical workflow AI.
Founded in 2015 by Dr. Ruben Amarasingham as a spin-off of the Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation, the Irving-based startup uses AI to streamline clinical workflows, helping ease the load on the clinical teams.
The founding round was backed by Children’s Health, Concord Health Partners, OSF HealthCare, and Rittenhouse Ventures, raising new capital to help the company pursue its mission of helping nurses, doctors, and care managers free up more time for bedside care delivery.
Pieces Technologies Inc.’s innovative technology leverages the power of AI to autonomously generate clinical documentation for professional care teams, with up to 5.4 million summaries generated for in-patient care teams across many health system clients.
In addition to the clinical documentation, the company’s suite of solutions also provides working progress notes, clinical working summaries, and discharge summaries, offering AI quality oversight.
Pieces Technologies Inc. has also developed an AI-powered oversight platform called Pieces SafeRead, which combines fine-tuned adversarial AI with clinician oversight to advance machine learning capabilities and reduce errors.
Earlier this year, the medical technology pioneer was nominated to the Dallas Innovates AI 75, underscoring the potential of its innovative technologies in simplifying the work of healthcare teams.
