Function Health, a Texas-based health technology platform that offers more than 100 lab tests, has secured $53 million to advance its technology and increase access to whole-body testing.
Co-founded by Mark Hyman MD, Jonathan Swerdlin, Pranitha Patil, Mike Nemke, Daniel Swerdlin and Seth Weisfeld, the startup’s latest round was spearheaded by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) Bio + Health.
The round also received contributions from other investors, including a16z Cultural Leadership Fund, Draft Ventures, K5, G9 Ventures, Wisdom.vc, 53 Stations, Embiid Ventures, alongside a group of angel investors.
As reported by FINSMES, Function Health will use the new capital to scale its technology and extend whole-body testing to more people across the United States.

The platform provides a full range of lab tests for hormones, heart, thyroid, nutrients, autoimmunity, toxins, immunity, and more. Test results are displayed in a digital dashboard in an easy-to-understand report, including the clinician’s summary.
The results are usually stored on Function Health’s platform to create a digital health profile, allowing users to track their health transformation over time.
Since its founding in 2023, Function Health’s platform has had about 50,000 members, with some 200,000 joining the waitlist.
