England-based health tech startup Definition Health has secured $7.5 million in the pre-seed funding round to revolutionize surgical care with predictive artificial intelligence (AI).
The technology, which is poised to transform surgical care and value-based care leverages the power of predictive AI to streamline workflows and reduce costs across the entire surgical journey.
Co-founded in 2015 by Dr. Sandeep Chauhan— an orthopedic surgeon and radiologist Dr. Rosie Scott, the company’s platform focuses on improving surgical efficiency by streamlining workflows, minimizing surgical complications, and improving patient outcomes.
Definition’s Health’s innovative platform is designed to integrate seamlessly with other hospital’s systems, improving workflows for surgeons and optimizing outcomes for surgery patients, minimizing delays, cancelations, and complications that could occur due to the fragmented surgery system.
Key Features of the Platform
Definition Health’s platform incorporates innovative technology, including predictive analytics based on machine learning and operations workflow, minimizing errors that could lead to complications and accelerating patient recovery.
The platform also features a scalable healthcare system model. The model has been tested with the NHS, the world’s leading single-payer system, and reduced the number of cancellations, resulting in a cost savings of $2.6 million for every 40,000 patients. This proved the system’s potential to deliver value-based care at scale.
