CCDFI has arranged an $8 million New Markets Tax Credit for the development of a new health establishment in Omak, Washington. This project aims to fill the shortage of healthcare providers for the Colville Indian Reservation. It has been categorized as a Medically Underserved Area in terms of poverty and unemployment.
A Concept for a Contemporary Healthcare Facility in Omak
A new 33,657 sq ft facility is to be built to replace the existing smaller 5,400 sq ft center, which is insufficient for the community. The new clinic will have 18 consultation rooms, six dental operating seats, and additional stations for pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, optometry, physical rehabilitation, and behavioral health. This advanced hospital will enhance access to and quality of health services for impoverished citizens in this country.
Supporting Cultural and Community Health Needs
Thus, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation peoples still retain their custom and culture by following several rituals and traditions. Tribe emphasizes featuring critical health care services of its individuals and the partnership with the local health initiatives. The new facility will improve the Tribe’s provision of a vast array of healthcare services. They are ultimately beneficial for the community.
A Step Towards Improved Healthcare Delivery
CCDFI’s financing could be viewed as one of the steps to bolster the development of health care services for emergent populations. With an evaluation of the Colville Indian Reservation, this project envisages long-term impact on the inhabitants and stems the gap concerning favorable health care access.
This expansion is based on the mutual interest in advancing health equity and serving underserved populations.
