AXA in partnership with Microsoft to develop a digital healthcare platform
AXA announces its partnership with Microsoft. The motive behind this partnership is to launch a new digital healthcare platform.
AXA, which is a well-known European insurance giant, recently announces about the launch of a digital healthcare platform. And they are not doing it alone, Microsoft as their partner Microsoft is all set to work with them.
The platform will be available for AXA customers in Italy and Germany initially. However, the roll-out for Spain, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Belgium, and other countries are on the way and may execute by 2022.
AXA’s this initiative will rely on technology in the Microsoft Cloud. Azure API for Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) is the source chosen to flourish the plan.
It enables patients to file their information while taking care of their privacy. It, however, plans to involve third-party integration for creating a global, open service for non-AXA customers as well.
Thomas Buberi, AXA chief executive, on their new plan, says, “In many countries, the fragmentation, complexity, and costs of health systems are a barrier to access to care. This new ecosystem of services that we have developed with Microsoft is a powerful lever to provide customers with access to the best healthcare solutions.”
The AXA digital healthcare platform intends to link with other services that include prevention and self-assessment tools. Not only that, there are certainly other services as well, like a digital document vault, a medical concierge, home care services, etc. It further plans to break down healthcare service silos for improving treatments, prevent diseases, and research.
At the beginning of the year, the Polish telemedicine company Telemedico has to close a Series A funding round worth €5.5 million. The reason behind this is to expand the performance of its SaaS platform and other healthcare services. And to support this platform, many insurance companies like Allianz, Metrored, AXA, and Generali used it.
Later AXA in 2020 announced its free teleconsultations to approximately 6.5 million individuals in Asia. The program will expand via a strategic alliance with Tencent Trusted Doctors. That is also known to be the largest digital medical service provider in China.
