Apotex introduced the Global Health Access Fund, which is expected to advance global health equity and help reduce disparities in selected international regions. The fund will expend US $1 million each year for organizations across Canada, the United States, India, and Mexico, with a priority on maternal health.
This program forms part of a successful global medicine donation program embarked on by Apotex to respond to the pressing health challenges facing several communities across the globe.
Rexdale Community Health Centre Gets First Grant
The first beneficiary of the Global Health Access Fund is the Rexdale Community Health Centre, which will receive $2.5 million over the next three years.
The massive funding will go to funding crucial prenatal and postnatal caregivers in the North Etobicoke area, which is known to experience health inequality. The programs sought to enhance the status of women and youths, especially mothers and children, by offering health care services.
Collaboration and Support
Safia Ahmed, the executive director of the Rexdale CHC, and Alexandra Boasie, the board chair of Rexdale CHC, spearheaded the announcement. The event was also addressed by MP Kirsty Duncan and Councillor Vincent Crisanti, who lauded Apotex for their continued dedication to improving health disparity and the general development of Canadian society.
This collaboration is an essential and exciting advancement in advancing the state of maternal health in vulnerable populations, and Apotex is still determined to make its vision bigger through the Global Health Access Fund.
