AIRS Medical, a pioneering health technology company focusing on AI and robotics applications in the healthcare sector, has secured $20M series C funding to revolutionize preventive healthcare using AI-powered solutions.
The investment round, spearheaded by BSK Investment and Shinyoung Securities, included participation from seven South Korean institutional investors.
Co-founded in 2018 by Jingu Lee and Joanna Kwon, AIRS Medical leverages innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics to develop preventive healthcare applications, with its flagship project, SwiftMR™, holding great potential to transform MRI by reducing scan time by up to 50%.
SwiftMR™ leverages deep learning technology to boost MRI scan speed by nearly twice the normal speed, resulting in more patients being served and reducing business hours by about 22%, according to the company. This not only increases revenue but also cuts operations costs.
With Swift, AIRS Medical aims to help healthcare organizations address typical challenges such as long patient wait times, which often lead to delayed diagnosis. Since many patients seeking MRI scans do have advanced symptoms, delayed diagnosis can have a significant impact on their mental health, resulting in worse outcomes.
The new technology paves the way for proactive disease detection before the onset of symptoms, allowing for early treatment and implementation of other preventive measures to improve the overall patient outcome.
With the healthcare sector experiencing staff shortage, advanced health tech tools are key to democratizing diagnostics and prognostics, easing the cost and access to the best MRI scan centers.
