India-based health technology startup leveraging the power of artificial intelligence to democratize access to affordable chronic disease screening, Ai Health Highway, has secured a $1 million in pre-seed funding round led by Turbostart.
The investment is part of the company’s $1.5 funding round backed by notable investors, including Rainmatter by Zerodha, BITS BioCyTiH Foundation, and The Chennai Angels, alongside angel investors.
Co-founded in 2018 by Radhakrishna Jamadagni Ph.D, Satish Jeevannavar Ph.D, and Divya Venkatraman Ph.D, the company aims to cut the cost associated with screening of chronic illness at primary care clinics, which are usually the first point of contact for patients suffering from chronic health conditions.
With its innovative Ai stethoscope technology known as AiSteth, the company aims to reduce the current 41 million premature deaths resulting from noncommunicable diseases by 30% come 2030 through early detection of lung and heart disorders.
According to the Journal of Health, Population, and Nutrition, cardiovascular diseases contribute to over 17 million premature deaths annually, making prevention and early detection critical in reducing the number of casualties globally.
Ai Health Highway’s AI-powered Stethoscope
Ai Health Highway has developed the next-generation stethoscope, AiSteth, to revolutionize how doctors screen for lung and health illnesses.
The smart stethoscope leverages the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to allow clinicians to visualize the sound in a spectrogram and identify anomalies using a smartphone application connected to the stethoscope via Bluetooth.
The AI and ML integrations enable the stethoscope to filter out ambient noise and allow users to listen clearly to the heart and abdominal sounds. They also allow users to record audio-visual data and share it with specialists for instant diagnosis.
