Pondok Indah Hospital Group achieves level 6 in EMR System. The CEO explains in a speech the lesson learnt.

Dr. Yanwar Hadiyanto discusses the role of digital transformation in healthcare. He is the CEO of Pandok Indah Hospital Group. Also, he gave a speech at the HIMSS Indonesian Digital Transformation Symposium.

He included details on EMR System and a simplified way to reach Level 6. Also, he explains to nearly 100 percent computerized. Dr. Hadiyanto informs that currently, the EMR serves three hospitals. The digital transformation will enhance the reach of EMR. It currently facilitates two hospitals in Jakarta and one in South Tangerang City.

The group was successful in achieving level 6 for HIMSS. It is their Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model, which does not connect them to other sources. However, the EMR serves as a source for laboratory information systems, radiology, information, and queueing. It is also connected to messaging, mobile applications, and Oracle ERP.

He informs that group doctors didn’t use paper after the implementation of EMR. Instead, the system utilizes the consent written and also uploaded on the system. The uploaded system offers some written documents in the accreditation process. However, they are not yet 100 percent electronic about informed consent.

He gives an explanation stating, “We also [have] nearly 100 percent computerized decision order entry; this is one of the standard requirements for the HIMSS EMRAM, that doctors must input their orders, such as lab orders, drug orders, orders from radiology.

“It must be computerized by doctors themselves, not anyone else, not [by] writing prescriptions and then [have] the pharmacy department enter [the data].”

He also explained the need for this digital transformation. The first hospital in Jakarta went down failure in the year 2008. The hospital was new at that time, and going digital was easy. There were not many patients during the time. So the data was less, and it became easy to enter the data to single access EMR.
