Health and Wellness Informatics News

Healthcare IT vendors are growing rapidly using cloud technologies.

The cloud-providing technologies increase efficiency and productivity, but there are still challenges to overcome. In the report by KLAS, healthcare IT vendors highlighted the cost efficiency and support issues.

The HIT vendor’s prominent use of cloud technology is a good sign in the healthcare environment. In a report by KLAS Arch Collaborative, vendors also gave their views on why they chose a particular cloud provider. They also commented on the obstacles in the process and problems that require solutions.

The report suggests that three-quarters have products running by multi-tenant SaaS. However, the rest quarter is running on single-tenant SaaS or offers platform-based technology that allows its user to choose the cloud providers of their choosing.

The reason given by the vendors for such an environment is the functionality gap and the terms of acquisition of products hosted by a different cloud provider. According to the report, telehealth vendors also provide the most mature cloud solutions among the rest.

The majority of healthcare IT vendors consider AWS over Microsoft and Google clouding services. The report by KLAS suggests 95% of the vendors prefer AWS as their service provider and 80% of them use AWS as the primary and secondary platform.

The reason stated behind this is the maturity of the AWS providers. It also provides the best technology capabilities, and the vendors prefer it due to their prior experience.

Second on the list is Microsoft Cloud provider. According to the reports, 80% of healthcare IT vendors prefer Microsoft Azure for their cloud services.

Microsoft’s extended relationships with big cities provide the advantage of software bundling. Reduce the prices of cloud platform services.

Microsoft Azure cloud providers for ease of integration software platforms and healthcare expertise are the main reasons for vendors choosing Azure over others.

Healthcare IT Vendors use Google Cloud Platforms as a secondary platform to give support and fill in the gaps for the primary platforms. However, the main reason for this is a non-flexible infrastructure and a high-cost non-supportive environment.
