In a HIMSS21 digital session Frank Cutitta, the CEO of HealthTech Decisions Lab, has led a panel. It also includes the chief innovation officer at Geisinger, Karen Murphy, and Tony Farah, the chief medical and clinical transformation officer at Highmark Health. They have also noted the innovation in cancer and cardiac treatment. It leaves healthcare to face a growing population where chronic diseases are quite common.
According to Farah, they have enough capabilities which can allow them to move in the right direction. They can do it on their own. The main key is to work on the improvement for the health outcome. It will allow for lower costs and better cost savings. Farah has done it through large-scale pilots, which are targeting the populations with chronic diseases.
To make a push through the programs at scale, Farah relied on public cloud providers like Google. It has the processing owner, and one can combine it with the expertise of the provider. However, it will help to reach out to the populations with chronic diseases.
It is important to ensure that they have 100% synchronization with their goals. Also, it is offering them better clinical outcomes for the population at scale.
Without a higher level of interoperability, it is hard enough to achieve these outcomes. Murphy also noted chronic disease management. It is highly important to focus on innovations to solve problems.
They have done six months’ research to get a snapshot of who is doing what and how they will communicate with patients. They also have the strong will to use completely different approaches, which will lead to quantifiable improvements. The inclusion of AI and ML will also help the patients better with monitoring themselves.
