On Tuesday, Cleveland Clinic came up with the announcement of a decade-long partnership along with IBM. It is following the design for harnessing the power of quantum computing for achieving the next generation of medical research.
Along with the joint launch of this new Discovery Accelerator, Cleveland Clinic and IBM aim to expand the speed and scope of healthcare. It is also going to explore the life science research with which they are hoping to uncover innovative approaches for public health emergencies.
Key to this new collaboration is the installation of the first private-sector on-premise of IBM Quantum System One in the U.S. Big Blue is also going ahead to install another next generation with a 1000 plus qubit quantum system. This is going to be a client facility for Cleveland by 2023.
The clinic is also going to have cloud access with more than 20 other IBM quantum systems. Such computing powers are going to enable big advances in data-intensive research areas. The areas include genomics, single-cell transcriptomics, drug discovery, and population health. At the same time, it is also going to facilitate a very fast development for an array of new clinical applications.
Cleveland Clinic is saying that Discovery Accelerator is also going to provide a technology foundation. It will be for its new Global Center for Human health and Pathogen Research. The announcement came up in January.
Together this health system and its partners at IBM are hoping that harnessing quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and hybrid cloud technologies are going to get the benefits. Also, it is going to enable faster gains from the innovations of leading-edge, like deep search, generative models, enriched quantum stimulations, etc.
Among the other technologies of IBM which are available for Cleveland Clinic is RoboRXN. It is a cloud platform for helping scientists. Also, there is a cloud-based IBM Functional Genomics Platform. It meets the design along with speed discoveries for the molecular targets.
