Ascom is set to deliver a communication solution for Mahsa University. It is the upcoming specialist hospital in Selangor, Malaysia.
Mansa Specialist hospital will open by the first quarter of 2023. Ascom, a Health IT provider, got chosen to deliver communication solutions. This solution also means for Mahsa University’s specialist hospital in Selangor, Malaysia.
The 400-bed specialist hospital will maximize the advantage of Ascom Digistat. This is a suite of clinical workflow software and patient data management. Digistat principally analyses data from various medical devices, according to Ascom.
The hospital will also take over Ascom Unite. This is interoperable software. This also operates data and events from source systems and orchestrates alerts. Ascom partnered with Mastersteel Medical. However, the aim is to install Digistat and Unite systems at Mahsa Specialist Hospital.
Ascom APAC Head of Regional Marketing Adam Jaffe stated that there is now a “demand for a platform that can orchestrate mission-critical events and provide an optimal response and workflow”. The project aims to “seamlessly integrate healthcare information, generate actionable insights and enhance patient care”. Jaffe also shared that deploying Digistat and Unite platforms will contribute to better clinical workflow. This will also reduce mobility and alarm management. Ascom APAC is working to bring the same Digistat and Unite package.
Ascom continues to deliver its health IT solutions. However, it signed a multi-million contract to bring its Telligence Nurse Call system. The same system is also working at Mayapada Healthcare hospitals. This is in Surabaya and Tangerang in Indonesia.
Ascom also received the European Union’s Medical Device Regulation (MDR) certification. The alarm management constituent of the Digistat suite.
It is the early recipient of the classification of a Class IIb medical device software. This is the second-highest risk classification under the MDR. Tan Sri Dr. Hj. Mohamed Haniffa is the pro-chancellor and executive chairman of Mahsa University. He also stated that he believes in valuing an open and integrated platform. The platform connects with various medical and non-medical devices. This also reduces time spent on finding information and manual entries.
This, in turn, improves the flow of information in the hospital.
